You mix diluted soap or mild dish detergent in a spray bottle and spray the bugs and it does help with aphids and some others, so it's worth a try. Since we only just got out first winter rains and have been dry since last spring, it was useless to plant them on St.Patrik's Day which is the normal rule here, so they greninate in autimn, establish a root system in winter and take off like rockets in early spring.
